Master of Arts in International Relations (Peace & Conflict Studies)

Introduction
The MA program offers courses keeping in mind the interdisciplinary nature of the fields of International Relations and Peace and Conflict Studies. The uniqueness of this program lies in its relevance to contemporary issues and the endeavour is to keep it dynamic and relevant at all times. Introduction of the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) has further enhanced the interdisciplinary learning of students.
The course encompasses diverse fields of study. The areas covered include international relations, democracy and politics of South Asia, peace and conflict studies, gender and violence, ethnic conflicts and peace processes, diplomacy, political economy of conflicts, environmental security, foreign policy, conflict resolution, international law, etc.

Eligibility
A candidate having a Bachelor’s degree in any disciple obtained from a recognised institution is eligible to apply. Mid-career professionals such as lawyers, journalists and NGO workers are encouraged to apply.

In addition to the prospects available in academia, the skill and knowledge acquired by students at the CIR equip them to pursue careers in a wide range of fields, more specifically international organizations, international non-governmental organizations, local non–governmental organizations, think tanks and the public sector.
